他们对搞不明白不理解或者对他们来说不是“常规”的事物都很恶意，比如对抑郁，就说人家矫情或者神经病，同性就是变态，学习或者阅读障碍就是低能蠢笨

To be honest I think it has become quite obvious to an onlooker like me that the Hollywood often tries to exploit the LGBTQ community’s desire to be recognised in the ‘mainstream’ by their hints and ‘olive branches’.
Their agenda is only ever to occupy, grow and secure their market share / to look progressive. And so they’re more than prepared to drop it when profitability might be hindered.
I’m not a fan of this as it seems to me rather cruel.

Rainbow washing isn’t specific to Hollywood, I mean just look at all the coops that jump on the pride month bandwagon every year.
However it does help the LGBTQ+ group to stay visible and increases awareness, especially in the younger generation, regardless of their motives.
The fact that some very queer coded scenes in certain TV series / films (Stranger things for example) are being interpreted in a different way in mainland China just highlights the need of such visibility even further.
